The Linguistics Secondary School was established in 1999 by the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages (University). The Institute, as a higher professional education establishment, began operating in 1990 and from 1997 has been a Cambridge University Exams Centre in Russia.
As part of the Secondary School’s move for expansion, from 2015 we formed a structural subsidiary: our British Lyceum (BL) whose purpose is to implement the United Kingdom’s secondary school curriculum in the English language. These programmes are: Primary for pupils of 5 - 11 years of age, Lower Secondary for pupils of 11 – 14 years of age, GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) for pupils of 14 – 16 years of age and the GCE A-level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) for 16 – 18 year old pupils preparing for higher education.
The British Lyceum (BL) is open for expatriate as well as Russian children with the opportunity, should it be so desired, of taking the Russian curriculum programmes externally in order to receive the Russian certificate of secondary education.
